  1. None.

I think everyone answering should've included their age.  To me the generation that you were brought up can have an influence on your opinion of this topic.

  2. Jay-Z....he sucks

  3. 2Pac.

  4. jay z and biggie dont see much talent in them like rakim and pac and nas

  5. 2pac [Most Overrated]

NaS [This guy has 2 classics And I think he's Overrated alot of times he's been outshined on alot of tracks lyrically.]

    Jay-Z [A Little Overrated]

  6. in order of most overrated to least

    Jay-Z

    Biggie

    2Pac

    Nas(i dont think hes overrated)

    Rakim(i dont think hes overrated)

  7. Jay-Z

  8. 2Pac

  9. none, people keep saying tupac and rakim but seriously whether or not the actual lyrics are c**p they all still had great delivery (especially for their time) and that to me is a huge part of what makes a rapper great

  10. 2pac-very overrated

Jay Z - Tiny Tiny Tiny bit overrated.

The last 3 are ranked right.

  11. If I must choose.  I'd say B.I.G.  for the misogynistic content.

  12. 2Pac and Jay-Z

2 pac is the most overrated in terms of lyricism.

Rakim aint overrated, considering he was rappin since '86 and still is relevant in his "newer" albums. His rhyming scheme(Internal rhymes, multis, ect.) is what basically inspired all MC's you see today. 18th Letter was an amazing album which showed his lyrical abilites get better.

  13. If I have to choose, I would say TuPac.  Although I think he was an exceptional rapper and his music meant alot to alot of people.

  14. none

  15. 2pac, Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G.

    2Pac is the most overrated.

  16. i think it would be Tupac with Jay-Z following close behind. don't get me wrong i like all those artists, but truthfully they are overrated.

i just saw on hiphopdx.com Blender Magazine calls Tupac the Most overrated rapper ever.

^i don't fully agree with that but he is overrated.

  17. On that list, I think that 2Pac, Nas and Jay-Z are all generally overrated.  I would add Rakim too but I think there are enough people who don't think he's great to remove him from the list.

    2Pac is the most overrated.

And again, when I say "overrated" I'm using the Merriam-Webster definition:  "to rate, value, or estimate too highly."

  18. My view on Jay Z being overrated will never change BUT he is overrated for the right reasons.

  19. 2pac by far and even Biggie...Rakim single-handled father the approach to writing that other emcees adopted and from there artist have use his style as a stepping stone

  20. I don't find any of them overrated.

EDIT: If there's one thing I was shocked at when I joined this section is how much 2Pac is called overrated. I just wonder what these people look at when considering who the best is. I can understand them saying he was a weak artist lyrically but don't they look at factors like influence and impact? It baffles me.

  21. Nas and Rakim are a tie for me

  22. I think Jay-Z is overrated. All of his stuff sounds the same to me. 2Pac, Biggie, and Nas all started in a different era, if you will. The early 90's. Their style is completely different from the mainstream stuff today.

  23. 2Pac

    Jay-Z

    Maybe Rakim

    The most: 2Pac

  24. Personally IMO you've named the 5 GOAT there so i don't think any of them are, if i really really had to choose Rakim would be my answer, though only on Y!A, underrated on the outside world.

2Pac rated right on Y!A, overrated on the outside world.

  25. 2PAC for sure.

If I had to chose but none of them are really overrated.

But If I'm going by what overrated is defined as It would Be TUpac people act like he was the Jesus of the Mic and he wasn't.

  26. 2 Pac, BIG, and definitely Jay-Z...he is garabage. 2Pac too...garbage-

  27. Jay z is the most overrated because people claim he's so original, but he steals other rapper's lines. He's a biter, not a writer.

  28. Excellent question!

Easy answer is Rakim. I really don't get it other than nostalgia. He lacks the lyrical prowess of the others on the list, yet he is often dubbed 'the greatest'. I'll pass.
