Which of these sparkling wines would you recommend?

My boyfriend and I are moving in together on August 1st. Neither of us are drinkers...but want to do something special to mark the occasion. After searching Answers, I have found that people generally recommend either Ballatore Gran Spumante or Martini & Rossi Asti for first time sparkling wine drinkers looking for something cheap. Now that I have narrowed it down to these two, which would you recommend? Thank you!

New to sparkling wine, I recommend Martini & Rossi.  The white is crisper (drier) and the blush is sweeter.  They are both pleasant and easy to take.

Those both are a bit sweeter, you should start with something dry. Look at you local liqour or grocery store, and select something labeled brut (means dry).
