    For 2 through 4

    2 If atoms share an electron the form a covalent bond,  if a atom gets rid of or acquires an additional electron then it forms an ion

    3 Covalent bonds are forces that hold atoms together in molecules.  Hydrogen bonds hold molecules together in substances.  In is much easier to break the bonds between water molecules than than break the bonds between the oxygen and hydrogen in water

    4 All carbon atoms have the same number of protons.  The number 12 or 14 is the number of protons and neutrons in that isotope.
