johnson is kind of common. like commonfolk...as in not upper class.

There is no such thing as a name being upper class.  If John D. Rockefeller hadn't made a fortune with Standard Oil and the Rockefellers were small shopkeepers, tradesmen, union workers etc, their name would still be Rockefeller.
