  3. I would venture that since number IV put them out of business, that was a pretty big effect - you didn't specify "effective" good or bad!

    And, if there hadn't been any demand in Europe for beaver hats prior to the 1830s, there probably wouldn't have been a big fur trade, thus no numbers I, II or III.
