  1. 1. is correct. ING is a modifier for the noun transparency.

  2. its the first one.

i dont know why but it does.

  3. The first one is correct because "increasing" is used as a gerund, which is a verb + "ing", which creates a noun.

It can be confusing, I know, but I study grammar religiously.

If you have further questions, consult an English teacher, Google, or a professor.

  4. The first one.

  5. sentence number 1

  6. Number 1 is correct, because it is a gerund phrase (a phrase which constitutes a noun)

  7. The first is correct. Increasing is a gerund -- a verbal noun. A key opens a thing -- a door, a box, a suitcase. Here, metaphorically, it opens the noun made from the verb "increase".

If you were to say "a key to increase", the meaning conveyed would be a key for the purpose of increasing, that is, a key the function of which is increasing. That is a different meaning from something which is a means to an end rather than a purpose in itself.

  8. 1

  9. In my opinion, the second one.

  10. I'm just taking a jab at this..soo don't laugh at me. But is it because the first statement means the transparency is already at a high level and it's just increasing it more?

and the second statement means there is little/none transparency and you're trying to increase the amount.

    ???
