Last Friday, I was driving down the Jones Falls Expressway in Baltimore. I was going towards the city and saw the other side had Three Fire-trucks, Two Ambulances, And a Couple of Police Cars. The Entire other half of the highway was closed. As I got closer, I saw a Saab 9-3 in the woods, and a Kia that was T-Boned hard enough to Bend the car where the front was almost touching the back. The driver of the Saab walked out with minor injuries, the driver of the Kia died.

A couple of days ago, I was talking to my friend who s ateacher at a local school. That same Friday night, a girl was at the Orioles Game, and she got a call to come home due to a family emergency. She got home and learned her mother died from a drunk driver hitting her car in a different accident from the first one I mentioned. The woman who died had three children, one of them in high school, the others even younger.

The reason for my stories is to show you that even if you are a good driver, anything can happen and that safety should be your top priority. That is why out of all of these cars, I would recommend something like the Subaru Legacy or Subaru Impreza. Volvo is known for safety, yet the S60 really does not stand out in crash test ratings. http://www.iihs.org/ratings/rating.aspx?...     . Subaru is known to have stellar AWD, Reliability, Gas Mileage, and Wonderful Safety Ratings.

Whenever you find a car that you like, i would recommend going to http://www.iihs.org/ratings/default.aspx and checking to see if is safe or not.

the Acura

the Volvo's expensive parts and reliability history

make it a poor choice for a first car.

the brand New VW's are great cars, the used ones

also suffer with reliability.

the 01 Integra sells for $6 to $8,000.

one possible negative, check with your insurance company.

this car has  High insurance rates, due to the fact that street racers prefer this car (high auto theft). It is easily modified and used for drifting etc.
