  1. fiber tracts. the cerebral cortex has fiber tracts (like descendin piramidal tracts and ascending spinothalamic tracts) descending from and ascending to it.

Cell bodies and dendrites are a must, cuz' it's full of synapses up there so u have to have those.

I'm not sure what to say about unmyelinated axons. This kind are found in postganglionary tracts of the autonomic nervous sistem and in nerves fibers thiner than 1 micron. I'm not sure about this, but i'd say that generaly the cerebral cortex has myelinated axons

So, the answer to ur question: fiber tracts.

  2. I agree that its fiber tracts, but the person aboves reasoning is not logical. the cerebral cortex is made up of gray matter, which means that it is made of unmyelinated axons and cell bodies.  fiber tracts consist of bundles of high speed myelinated axons, and therefore are not in the gray matter, these would be found in the white matter of the brain/spinal cord. dendrites, unmyelinated axons and cell bodies can all be found in gray matter and hence the cerebral cortex.

    hope that helps
