i'm kind of torn between the two.  the second one looks like a cartoon, the first one looks more 'real'.  but i think i'm drawn to the second one more - maybe i need a head doctor!  i like them both very much.

Because of Lovecraft's work, Cthulhu is not only 'better' in this image  but better in the writing. Cthulhu helped Lovecraft's popularity among readers and writers of horror immensely.

ADD: I should say, the 'Cthulhu mythos' but I mean the whole world built around this idea, this anti-idea, this great piece of horror writing.
