  1. You can go straight to the grocery store aisles where they sell cooking oil and purchase ORIGINAL olive oil and it will help repair your damage hair (when used as a hot oil treatment) and condition it as well. I would also recomend you get coconut oil too. Coconut oil when used in combination with olive oil as a hot oil treatment softens hair and adds a nice sheen. Use is sparingly though, if you use too much it can make your hair too oily. It defiitely is healthy for your hair though.

    Good Luck!

  2. Use normal original olive oil, it has all the fat in it that use good for the scalp.  Just buy a supermarket own brand, you dont need to be picky.

  3. Extra virgin is less processed and by far the better to use.

  4. i hate to tel you but as a hairstylist olive oil isnt goign to do a darn thing to your hair, not make it healthy or anything, just make it greasy

  5. Doesn't matter...Just the kind in the bottle..

  6. Extra Virgin is taken from the first pressings of olive. This provides the best flavours.  Lesser oils are taken from subsequent pressings or by heating the mush. Mechanical or heat processing of oil should not have any effect on its suitability for hair, so go with the one that feels best for you.

Looking at the article below, the thing to watch for hair oil is that it has not been treated chemically or with solvents to reduce the acidity to give a higher food grade.  Mild acidity is actually a good thing for use on hair, since protein is in itself acidic, and a pH of 5.5 is considered ideal.  Alkalines (such as soap) are not good for hair and makes hair feel unpleasant.

Other oils that may be worth trying are jojoba and emu.  Both are closer in make-up to the human sebum, and go semi-solid at low temperatures, so they stay on for longer and feel less greasy.  Jojoba is from a Mexican bean, and emu is from an Australian bird.  You do not need much to work into the hair.

  7.         original olive oil is the best to put on hair..

  8. I've never used real olive oil on my hair so I wouldn't know. But, Bath and Body works sells this Frederik Fekkai line with olive oil in it. The smoothing creme is awesome. They are very good, but expensive.
