Which one: AMD or Intel?

It depends, AMD chip lack L2 cache, (cache is essientially the school bus that carries info from your processor to your system ram, the bigger the bus ...well you get the idea) There best pheNom chips have about 2mb L2 cache shared between 4 coreS, where as cORE 2 Quads   HAS, I THINK, 2MB cache per core (total 8mb). It used to be the Amd made up for the lack of cache by having blazing transfer speeds, but Intel chips have caught up, and have more cache ...so you tell me which chip is better  ...as far as performance

...but as far and performance vs. price AMD wins hands down.

it depends. about 2-3 years ago AMD was better.

But now, intel is the best option. However, this may change within a couple of years. (Personally, I think intel will leap forward..beyond AMD's reach)

AMD doesn't make mobos. But, as CPU's go, t depends for what. Intel has better quad cores, but AMD is cheaper. I'd have to say that overall, Intel is worth the extra money.

AMD works better if you will use it on gaming system video etc.

Intel works best for Office, documents etc.

AMD is far cheaper.

Intel should be used if you want the "bling" and want to overclock your system to the limits.

Intel has more overclocking headroom.

Intel has better high-end motherboards though.
