Hi there, can you tell me which one I have to go for? a 2002 CR-V (realtime) or a 2001 RAV-4 (50/50)? The Ravs have 2.0 L engine and the cr-v 2.4L

Rav is better looking regarding the last side windows which gives it better look and cr-v correct it in recent year models. I mean if you look at a CR-v from sides, you can not see any difference between a 1997 and a 2002 until you look at theheadlights. But toyota has different look from previous generation.

Now Gas consumption these days and hourly charge of the dealers...!

Which 1 is better.

  1. I was in the same situation 2 yrs ago and ended up with a 2000 CR-V and don't regret it. The CR-V will have a slight edge in fuel economy because it runs as FWD until the front wheels slip then the rears kick in. The Toyota and Subaru run power to a degree to the rear wheels all the time thus burning a little more fuel. The Honda also has way more room inside, especially rear passenger room. BTW my CR-V plows through anything Canadian winters has to throw at it and this past one we had record snow fall and it performed flawlessly. The AWD system is also a very reliable system that's hydraulic fluid operated and only needs a liter of fluid replaced as maintenance.

  2. Both have terrible AWD systems and it's been proven time and again. In a snow or ice type situation, both react way too slow and will get you stuck. I would look to a Subaru Forester.  Thay have the best AWD system on the market and are always praised for their safety.
