Which one?? Spouse or the kids?

Question

If your house was on fire, and you could only save your husband/wife or the kids, which would it be???

A co-worker asked me that and without hesitation I said kids, but it was interesting to hear opposite answers and reasoning. Just wondered.

I would definitely say the kids. You can replace the husband, you can't ever replace your kids.

well i'll expect my husband to find a way out himself unless he is unfit or something so i'll save kids...

Im interested in how Kat thinks you can replace your husband?

I would do my best to get them all out and stop at nothing. I would save who i could and if i lost someone then i could be at peace knowing i did everything i could. My husband is irreplaceable, as are the kidlets.

I would kill myself trying to save everyone and we would all be burnt together

I would save my children first.  I would try to wake my spouse, but I can't wake him I'm getting my kids out. Parents aren't suppose to out live their children and they have their whole lives ahead of them, but if there was time I would try to save my husband after the fact, but the children are definitely the most important.

First of all: what a horrible dilemma! Sorry but, I would not make the choice, even if it meant my death I would try to get both husband and kids out. If husband was stuck somewhere I'd let the kids help me get him out...

kids was the 1st thought in my head we dont have kids yet but yea kids would be the 1st reaction a few couples have asked questions like that before the woman was asked that and the man was asked if your wife was in labor and either her or the baby would die who would you pick to live.

If anyone chooses husband over their own kids i sure in the h**l wouldn't want to be with that person.
