  1. I don't know why this is an urgent question.  go to an animal shelter and see who picks you out.  that would be the best match.

  2. I have owned 3 pure Persians and one Persian cross - all of whom were adopted from the animal rescue centre where I am a volunteer.  Now ask yourself why such beautiful, not to mention expensive, cats found their way there.  It is because they are high maintenance and, after a while, people can't be bothered.

However, if you do get a Persian and do look after it properly, they are certainly very lovely.  I have had one male and the rest female and, to be honest, I don't think there has been much difference between them - possibly 2 of the females have been a bit more affectionate but one of them definitely NOT - in fact she is a feisty little madam but still very much loved.  So, in answer to your question, I think you need to keep an open mind and see which cat you gravitate towards.  Just bear in mind that a Persian is not a cat to get on a whim.

By the way - I have one pure Persian and the Persian cross at the moment, along with 4 "moggies" and they ALL have special characteristics and are ALL beautiful in my eyes.  Please don't choose a purebreed over a moggie just because you think they are "posh".

  3. Why is this "urgent"?

Before you get a Persian I hope you've researched what it takes to own one.  They're a LOT of work.

Their coats have to be combed - NOT brushed - at LEAST every other day to prevent matting.

They also have to have their eye area kept clean.

They're prone to respiratory infections because their flat faces are a perfect place for bacteria to set up shop.

Persians are one of the purebred cats most often dumped at shelters or simply tossed out on the street by lazy owners who don't want to deal with their upkeep.  That being said, if you DO know how much work they are and are willing to give a Persian the care it needs then a shelter is a great place to look for one.

As far as male or female - it really doesn't make a difference.  Pick the cat that you like most and then ask whether it's male or female.

  4. a male.

male cats are alway more loving & playful

  5. I personally like males..from experience most of the guy cats i've ever had along with Persians they just come around easier and stick by your side quicker as long as you bond with him, i hope you find your right cat!

    Its a great experience!

    hope it helps.!
