I'm proud of him and America.  Seems like these days Americans have little to be proud of but he showed them. It's gonna be a hard act to follow because future Olympians won't have a goal. It's already been reached in the swimming category.

I am proud of HIM and what he did for America. He is an amazing athlete! I never watched the Olympics til I read about him in the paper. He is one of a kind!!

2. Basically because he did it all on his own without his government forcing him since the age of 2 like in China. Our athletes are not pawns of our government, they do it because they truly want it and truly have the skills.

I would say 1-2-3  also I think he is a great role model for today's youth. Some feel they cant do anything like this when  a lot of them have great potential.
