Which one hurts (would hurt) the most?

A. Hiring Barry Melrose as your coach? Career record... 79 -101 -29 (with Wayne Gretzky as your top player) hasnt coached since 1995

B. Losing Scotty Bowman as a consultant? (age 75)

C. Standing pat waiting for Sundin to sign and he never does? (see Montreal)

D. Watching your 1st round draft pick Luke Schenn have a career ending injury occur in the World Jrs camp before he even plays a game for the Leafs.... Then watching Sundin sign with VAN... Watch your dreams of Scotty Bowman as a GM go down the drain when he goes to Chicago.. Sandbaggin' the 2008-2009 NHL season and winning the lottery, only to draft Tavares and he becoms that 1st pick bust the NHL is long overdue for?

D would hurt the most.

A would just annoy me to no end. He looks like a pimp.

C I'd tell Sundin to either __ or get off the john.

B It'd hurt but I'd get over it. Heck RW have enough cups to keep them happy for awhile.

A. If they both have mullets in tact this is not a bad thing  (rated #4)

B. Not one team involved in that effect me in anyway        (rated #3)

C. Thank the Curse of St. Patrick for all that goes sour in Mtl.  (#2)

D. The most painfull thing has to be, being the Maple Leafs. (#1)

D is pretty much my worst nightmare. As if things aren't bad enough in Leafland, eh?

Well D of course, but realistically A

Melrose will do nothing to improve that team...but an entire NEW ROSTER may help...OH yeah they did that too

1. A - It hurts more when you actually think that TBL has a chance this year, plans for success are quickly foiled, and your mistrust and naive misgivings are realized.  All of this due to Barry Melrose.  On top of that, he clings to that greasy mullet as his last trinket of respect and credibility, and you have to look at it with the pricy tickets you paid for to sit behind the home bench.

2. D - All of those things suck.  Combined with the fact that your team's name is an inanimate object that withers and dies perenially, these things make for a very bad day, week, and season.

3. B - His expertise and consultation is invaluable, but not completely necessary with the currently stacked front office.  Having Babs behind the bench gives me complete confidence, and knowing Scotty went to Chicago primarily for family reasons helps me let go.  Still, I'm used to having Scotty in Detroit.  I'll miss him, but won't lose sleep.  Detroit will be more than just fine.

4. C - Sundin won't be a huge difference maker.  Maybe this season, but who is saying that Montreal would have a shot anyway?  They're looking okay for next year, but the goaltending tandem will prove to be their weak point.  If they were waiting on Khabibulin and lost time waiting to sign him, then they might be hurting.  I don't think Montreal needs scoring at this point.  Mats Sundin is a expensive player for a guy with no winning experience.

D- The rest are sucky as well, but that's someone's career and well-being, which extends well beyond the game itself.

D- would hurt the most, because the Islanders won't have to sandbag to get the first pick. Then they won't get Tavaras either because they are too chicken $hit to make that pick, and will trade it away. Bowman would never show up on a team that far down in the rebuilding process, same with Sundin signing with the same type of team, and Melrose is an idiot, so it's no great loss.
