Which one is better? Ipod nano or the regular Ipod?

I really want to get a new Ipod, because mine only has 500 songs right now. I kind of want to get a classic Ipod of the newest generation, so i can hold more songs, but i heard that some people were having problems with the hard drive. The Ipod nano doesn't have the same hard drive, so it wouldn't have these problems, which is why i'm thinking of getting a nano. Has anyone else had problems with the classic though?

my sister had a problem  with it she got most of her songs erased by its self so get the ipod nano i have that one but i'm selling it to get cash but its better

the classic doesnt have a hard drive "problem", but it does lag when you use the cover flow and all that kind of stuff. it does also freeze occasionally....well atleast mine does
