At the local Esso, there is a sign with snowmobiles for sale. There is 1) 1999Arctic Cat Powder Special 600 with a 136 inch track, hand warmers, and a cover. $3300 2) 1999 Ski-Doo Bombardier MXZ 600 with a 121 inch track, hand warmers, and cover. $4300.

Which is the better deal and which one would u buy? And why?

  1. Different strokes...the Ski-Doo people will tell you the MXZ, and the Cat people (/vomit) will tell you the puke green sled is better.

I'm partial to the MXZ, but honestly, save your money and put a down payment on a newer sled.

  2. Wow, i sure am outnumbered here on yahoo answers lol. I am Ski doo all the way. In this situation it depends upon what you want to do. If you want to road race/road ride, go for the MXZ. If you want to mainly play off the trail, then go for the Arctic Cat. (I recommend a Ski doo summit for off trail, but that is just my preference). But, i think both options you have lack in the power department. And power is a must have off trail. As far as price, you might be able to get better deals elsewhere. A good place to go is your local snow show. Usually held in the fall. The summer/fall is the best time to buy a used sled because the price will generally be lower.

  3. real snow

  4. Go with the Arctic Cat if you're going with either.  You can find a better sled than either of these though for the same or less.  Arctic Cat makes a better sled than Ski-Doo.  I could go into why forever but I'll just tell you that I've never had good experiences with Ski-Doo.  The Ski-Doo has a ridiculously short track too.  They're both really short and you might have big problems if you get off the trail but at least with the Cat you're working with an extra 15 inches and that really is a lot with sleds.

  5. I have had both of the sleds in my family actually. The sled that I would recommend would be the Powder Special. The MXZ was just to short of a track and every time we got off the trail it got stuck. The problem that I had with the powder special is that we were wearing the hifax's rather quickly but that can be prevented by dragging your feet more.

To be honest either of those sleds don't sound that great for those prices. I would keep looking because you can find an 02 for about $3000.
