they're both 1080p HDTV Flat Panel LCD.

also,im gonna match it with a Blu-ray Disc Player..

which is better?..

BDP1400 or BDP1500 for Samsung,or

BDP-S300 or BDP-S500 for Sony

As you can see there is a lot of opinion in HT (home theater). The bottom line is go out and look for yourself and choose the one that looks better to you. Keep in mind that most people do not know what a video display is supposed to look like and will pick a brighter display over a dimmer one even if the dimmer one has a better picture. Just like many people will pick a louder sound over a quieter one even though the quieter one may be better.

Also the default settings on most TVs are set to look good in the store. They usually have too much color, contrast, and sharpness for home use.

If you want to see what a picture is supposed to look like you can see if any of the movies you already own have a THX optimizer on them. If not buy a calibration disk and adjust your TV for a proper picture. TV colors are supposed to be pastel and the edges should be smooth but not stand out too much. Once you know what a picture should look like you can go into the store and play around with a couple of sets to get something close to a proper picture on them and then compare them.

Use your own eyes (and ears if you don't have a separate sound system) and pick what is best for you.

At present the best Blu-ray player is the PS3 gaming machine.
