  1. Oh boy, re-gassing a plasma is absolutely not possible. I don't know how that one started.

Most plasmas are cheaper than LCD inch per inch.

Todays plasmas don't have bad burn-in problems (although you still can get them to burn in so I wouldn't play video games on them). Plasmas and LCDs have the same lifespan'

Ok that said, I tell my friends to buy lcd if they plan on playing video games and plasma if they want a better picture (especially with fast moving shows like sports). LCDs have gotten better with contrast ratios and movement but plasmas are still better in that respect.

LCDs are brighter than plasma but the newer plasmas have anti-glare screens and most people have window shades anyway.

Each has it's pluses and minuses. Both are very good though.

  2. According to 63% of the population, it's plasma:

  3. For me LCD also, because.

    1. They are cheaper.

    2. They are cheaper to run with regards to electricity.

    3. They have a brighter screen, which i need to be able to see in the daytime.

    4. They do not need regassing every 10 years or so.

Plasma's generally have a better picture quality and colours.

  4. Depends on your circumstances and your viewing needs. First of all I agree with what the top contributor person says, the regassing thing is a nonsense. Burn in issues have been addressed in Plasmas and in fact the only time I have seem burn in was on an LCD. In short, LCDs for sizes less than 37"/42". If you have HD content and can fit a 42" tv or more in your room then I always go for Plasmas. If you want further information have a look at this site:

    Hope that helps!

  5. LCD.
