  1. I would use the first example, it sounds more correct.


  2. Both are equally correct.

    The context of what you are writing would determine which to use:

    Infidelity is a souce of conflict ... between Bill and Mary. Here, you have one conflict.

    Infidelity is a souce of conflicts ... in many marriages. Here, there would be multiple conflicts.


  3. The first one, the infidelity is singular, otherwise it would be infidelities. Then the sentence would read "Infidelities are a source of conflict". The other thing is whether there are many conflicts, or just the one, so it depends on the content of the rest of your statement/question.

  4. I'm with mysticme singular subject if you're using singular verb.  Or you could go with >>Infidelity and alcohol are the sources of many conflicts.In which case, everything goes plural.
