The bus will take you forever and there are weird people on there...SERIOUSLY!

If you aren't in a hurry, take the train.  If you need to get there fast, go to hotwire, priceline, orbitz, or expedia and find a flight.  Once you find the cheapest flight, go to the airline's website and book it from there (they usually beat the discount website rates).

With a name like Igor, I would hitchhike; see the Eastern Seaboard, the Allegheny Mountains and Sherman's March to the Sea all for the price of a few cups of coffee.  Tis summer and the traveling is easy, all the way to the Big Easy.
