Over a month ago, I bought brand new speakers to be used with an (old) Panasonic stereo, a 12 inches sub and an Alpine MRP-M350 amp. I mostly listened music from my iPod, playing through a Kensington FM transmitter. Everything was fine for a month or so, until my speakers set went off. Only the sub remains playing. When I restart the engine, I can hear the speakers for a second and they're off again. It's the samething even though I play a CD, the radio and the iPod.

I first suspected the bad quality of my stereo, which is old and has no cross-over. I don't know much about those things. But yesterday I went in my brother's car, who has a high quality Alpine stereo, and high quality/power amp and sub. I tried to play my iPod again through another type of transmitter (same brand though) and after 30 seconds his speakers went off to, leaving only the sub.

Would that be a pure coincidence or would my iPod be the problem?

Ok, If the iPod is too loud, how do I reset the whole thing?
