B     I have a 6month old and at his last check up the doctor said that type of book is best for that age. Read and repeat the word a few times

B. At this age they are trying to make sense of their world, they have no concept of imaginary items such as talking rabbits and dwarfs. They see everyday things around them and they want the words. Paperback books would also be a disaster with a child this young.

B. Absoluetly!!!! I have two boys ages 5 and  almost 2 and both of them had books with everyday objects in them at that age. Also a good idea is not only when you read to the child but everywhere you go with them point out objects and say their name to the child a few times. Its helps develop their language skills and to associate the item with the word.
