  1. Seriously depends what you need it 4, you want it for serious graphics?

  2. i use photoshop cs3 extended^^

  3. Illustrator is most appropriate for that kind of design, you could do it in Photoshop but it would be more complicated.

Also all of these programs you have listed are very old versions... the current is the Adobe CS3 bundle (with CS4 in demo & beta trials)

Illustrator is for vector based graphics (where curves are plotted using a mathematical function instead of lots of little dots) this allows for easier curve manipulation and infinite resizing. Perfect for ... Illustrations (seriously, cartoons, illustrations, anything that doesn't involve photography as a portion of the elements)

Photoshop is for bitmap based graphics (mainly) (creating images using thousands of little dots rather than mathematical curves) this allows for tight, fine detail pixel manipulation and colour & light management. Perfect for Photographic editing or any image that includes photographic components.

InDesign is a Desktop Publishing program. Made for creating magazine layouts, newspaper or flyer layouts, anything where you're building a page for print (likely you would get most of the elements for an InDesign document from Photoshop & Illustrator)

  4. Adobe Photoshop for sure, its the best on the market!
