Which one of these is a good Canon Camera?

I need to get a new camera to replace my a530.

I am looking at the SD870 IS and the SD790 IS

I love the 3" LCD screen so that is why I am choosing between the two.

Does anyone have either and what do you like / don't like about the camera.

I like the 870 cuz it has the 3.8wide zoom cuz I have 5 kids and to get them all next to each other is hard for pictures.

I like the 790 cuz it has the lith-ion batt which to me would seem to last longer.

Any help is appreciated.

Also, reason why I am choosing Canon... most of my camera's have been Canon and I'm really familiar with the settings, etc. My kids have a Kodak and an HP and I don't like how the settings are. The canon is easy to figure out (since I don't like reading instructions, just like to start snapping pix!)

If there are any other cameras w/ 3" LCD, let me know what you like about them too.

If you want the wider lens, get it. Simple as that. :) It's a very good camera.

It uses the same battery as the SD790.
