Gary Sheffield was part of BALCO (the same steroid scandal Barry Bonds was involved in) I think that players who use steroids don't deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.

Thomas is a guaranteed yes, Thome is a maybe only because of the era, but Sheffield is a guaranteed no. Besides the juicing, when he admitted to purposely playing awful so the Brewers would trade him, a lot of writers said they'd never vote him into the Hall - and he's pulled a lot of c**p with a lot of teams since. He has zero chance of ever getting to the hall and that one I agree with totally.

If I had to pick only one I would pick Gary Sheffield.  Admitted steroid user.  Terrible attitude.  Very racist.  Not a very nice guy.  Cooperstown doesn't need people like him.  The fact is if it was up to me I wouldn't have let Ty Cobb in the hall either.  Another scum bag of a human being.

I think the only one deserving of the HOF is Frank Thomas. But the one that doesn't here is Gary Sheffield.  Jim Thome has the 500HRs so he has more credentials. Sheffield has hit a lot and is close to the 500 HRs but I just don't like his chances.

Thomas is a lock in.
