Check engine light is on for the umpteenth time and I have already replaced the Catconverter under warranty and had the software updated cause they came out with a fix for the problem meaning I never need the Catconverter in the first place. Now its back on again and they tell me I need ANOTHER Cat converter and its out of warranty.

My truck has 180K on it and I have done nothing but changed the oil. This POS Hybrid has had problems since I got it. I think the ENVIROMENTALIST movement that has been pushing for these cars should pay for my repairs or force Honda to step up. WHO AGREES????

  1. I think you should just get a high mileage car like a corolla. Good amount of power and low maintenance and cost.

  2. The cat converter is nothing to do with the hybrid nature of the car & would probably have failed on the non-hybrid version too.

best get a hybrid without the noisy complicated, smelly high maintenace infernal combustion part, no exhaust sytem to worry about.. eg the Phoenix SUT http://www.phoenixmotorcars.com

The Prius hybrid system is garunteed 8 years, and they are very good at fixing things under warenty

  3. Have "Environmentalists" ever been right on anything? They killed our best option, Nuclear. They set all our pollution regulations for everything BUT CO2, because we were supposed to FREEZE. Now they want us all to pay big bucks for Solar, Hybrids, etc. because we are going to ROAST.

I want to buy one of those 60-70 MPH cars Europe has so I can do my part, but they tell me I can't because our emissions laws will not allow it. It is one huge FUBAR.

  4. If all that is bugging you is the darn light saying you converter is wacked out, get some black electrical tape and cover or remove the light unless your truck is running crappy too, then its time to suck it up, be a man and drive it over a cliff!

  5. what's the vin number on that hybrid/ year/ model?

  6. don't worry, once we stop invading oil rich countries so that exxon can sell us the oil, as opposed to buying it from those countries through free trade, the six hundred billion dollars we save in taxes every year can help you out

  7. Environmentalists just plant the lemons. You bought it. You drove it for 180k miles. Put a new gadget in and sell it, then buy something you can blame on someone else ... big business maybe. It sounds like an old emphysemic smoker wanting the tobacco company to pay for their healthcare because environmentalists didn't tell them it would hurt them. Uh huh!

  8. Take it up with the manufacturer and spare us your rant. You are ranting about a hybrid car when the component going bad is not even part of the hybrid system. That's like blaming fish for giving you mercury poisoning when humans put mercury in the water.

  9. I agree but why did you buy it. Don't believe those guys, theywon't pay for the repairs. Poor you.

  10. Hybrid cars are a joke. They are a car built for look at me and what i am doing for the environment.  Hollywood and elites by these so they can feel good about themselves.

I have 480K on my work van and this year alone I have spent 10k in repairs but the first 350k were good to me. My van is my job.

I considered a hybrid for the wife because she only drives around town but I do not trust them but would consider a plug and drive car but rent cars to go on vacations.

Environmentalist stand in the way of progress and will never admit to being wrong about anything. Their cause is more important then the outcome. Sound familiar?

  11. uhmmm environmentalist would prefer a non-hybrid car that does not run on gas. But big companies like ford and honda won''t make those because they will lose money on parts and repairs. Therefor the Hybrid was created.

  12. I'm sorry you're having problems with your car but I know people who have hybrids and have no problems with them. You know 180K on the clock is quite a bit and it seems that that's about when many cars start having problems, so take it up with the manufacturer, what are we supposed to do destroy the planet because some people have problems with their cars. This reminds me of a family member who got all kinds of bent out of shape because she had to go out and replace he 25 year old clothes dryer that never gave her a bit of trouble, I just told her that didn't she think she got her money's worth out of it?, I think she paid $150 when she bought it, which comes to $6 a year, heavens to Betsy!!!, call the marines.
