I have 2 options from my school to get security for my computer. I can get norton internet security 2008 OR trend micro internet security 2008.

im not to familar with either but I have to chose ONE of those options and nothing else. I dont know why, I think its because there support only supports those 2 programs.

please tell me which one is best for me.

I have windows vista ultimate 32 bit. 4 gb ram and a 250 hard drive.

Thank you very much.

PLEASE remember, I cant get anything but these 2 programs and I have to have one installed before class on tuesday.

  1. Trend Micro is a better choice than Norton.  It takes fewer system resources and does not create a root kit vulnerability.

  2. Norton...

2008 versions of norton doesnt use a lot of system resources....and is the fastest at scanning (see av-comparatives.org) and norton has a detection rate of 98 %

  3. Trendmicro.  Norton is terrible.  trendmicro is very good.

  4. Trend micro........norton is a nasty over bloated junk .... will bring comp. to a crawl........

  5. Norton is far superior to Trend Micro.  Norton, run by Symantec, has one of the largest databases for detection and the fastest detection updates.

Trend Micro on the other hand has pitiful detection rates and generally doesn't offer any protection against truly dangerous malware.

As you can see Norton is much better rated program.
