In my case, I let my friends overestimate me and my enemies underestimate me.... <wicked smile>

How about you then? And why do you let them do that to you?

  1. we let people underestimate us all the time - to get an advantage -- Playing cards you fumble a shuffle on the first turn, so they don't realise your a sharp straight away.

We also let others Overestimate us to get to the place we what to be. Into the position we what to be -- Which is ahead.

Its all about advantage and survival.

I have few enemies Now. So it must be working ......... LOL

  2. overestimate

  3. I sometimes let people OVERESTIMATE me, to gain status, and reputation... But then, once I'm put into that position, where I need to perform, then I usually catch on fast & excel at the given task successfully, surprising even MYSELF... I guess the whole idea of a CHALLENGE, is what suddenly brings out my best skills, allowing me to triumph. So it turns out that it wasn't really an overestimation after all, because I was capable all along, thus I work my way into being WORTHY of that gained status & reputation.

On the other hand, when people UNDERESTIMATE me, it's usually not because I "let" them, but rather, because they CHOSE to. So if I defeat them at something which they didn't expect me to win, I never feel like I purposely DECEIVED them or anything, because I DIDN'T... It's not MY fault that they assumed I was unskilled.
