Which one to buy? PS3 or PSP?

My brothers birthday is coming and he wants to buy either a psp or ps3. Can anyone please tell about the pro's and con's of both systems including the top games.

listen dont buy these u'll probably be wasting. I have a ps3,ps2,psp and xbox 360. And what games i get i have to crack my psp and ps3. xbox360's games i get it from internet. ps2 games can be bought copied.

OVERALL I WASTED AROUND 60,000 TO 70,000 ON GAMES.

and now all games are played and i am going sell these and buy a good sony ericsson walkman phone !!

WARNING YA IF U RICH ENOUGH TO SEND 50,000 PERYEAR ON GAMES THEN GO AND BUY IT!

Well the PSP has no good games, and the PS3 has 1 good game, and that is Metal Gear Solid 4.

PSP is portable, small, and the quality is super. But the PS3, you need to plug everything in to a Tv and stuff and it's really expensive. Psp had less games though. You don't have to charge a PS3.

My personal opinion, I would get a PSP. Maybe you should wait, I think they're making a PSP2, or did thay already make it? lol.

if u want to play games where ever u want get the psp..its portable as it is in its name..

but if you want a ps3,it way better..so many games.better graphics more memory...

I would recommend the PSP but it depends on the person really because for my family, my brothers enjoy handheld games moreso than the consoles themselves. So if your brother seems to be a "console" kind of guy, then get him a Ps3.

To be honest, if you are going to buy your brother something, more so than the PSP or PS3, I recommend an Xbox 360. It is an amazing gaming console, its extremely fun to play and it has served me well these past few years.

Xbox 360 in my opinion is better. But if he wants a Sony product then I think PS3 is better. It has Rock Band and Call Of Duty 4.

I have both

First off the PS3 is the Home entertainment system, which is to be played at home on a TV

The PSP is the PlayStation portable which is a handheld which you can basically take everywhere

Short Answer : PS3  if you really love your brother

Now i have both and without a doubt i can say that the best choice is the ps3. Although it is alot more expensive it is future proof, your brother will play this for MANY years to come where as the psp is easily forgettable as it dosnt have as many games or features.

When comparing the PS3 to the PSP there are just to many pro's to list about the ps3, its not like we are comparing it to another console.

The PSP can play video, music, pictures and games and is portable so u can watch all these on the go. Althought if he has an Ipod or something its pointless. Games wise it lacks alot as good games come far and are to few.   Some top games can be found at gamespot.com ( i dont know what his tastes are)

the ps3 is also more friendly when it comes to multipalyer ( online capabilities and 7 players at a time on one console) and better game experiences, longer games with better controls and graphics aswell as gameplay, such as Metal gear Solid 4 and Call of Duty4 and HEAPS of upcoming games like resistance 2 and killzone 2

The ps3 also has Blu-ray, so if your into high quality movies this will suit him nicely.

KEEP IN MIND the PSP is $200 AUD  and the PS3 is around $600 AUD

So its an investment but its worth it, you love him dont cha ?
