  1. I'm completly convinced that one USMC sniper team could kill every samurai and ninja (if they did exist- which is debateable) that ever existed without bieng detected.

so MODERN technology and tactics are better than ancient espionage tactics.

  2. Either the attack with careful planning to the forceful full frontal attack and willingness to die. Or the sneak up behind you and cut your head off in your sleep. Well the Samaria had more victories, but there were fewer ninjas and assassination attempts than wars.

The question is would you either prepare yourself for battle and charge in doing your best and hope you don't die, or be a coward and sneak into the enemies tent while they sleep?

  3. Samurai's had to kill themselves if they failed their master, which really blows. Ninja's wear black and that is very stylish. So i'ld say Ninja 's win by choice in fashion and not committing suicide (which is a terrible fighting tactic)

  4. A samurai must adhere to the code of bushido, while the ninja has no rules except to kill by any means. In tactics, that would give the ninja an advantage, but in a battle......any well trained iaido (the art of killing on the first draw) samurai would lay waste to any number of sneaky ninjas

  5. Ninjas own samurai....what's the point of wearing 2inch thick sandals and wielding a katana? None.  Ninjas can kill samurais anyday easily.  It's no contest.  Anybody that likes samurai is lame.

  6. In combat on an open field, Samurai tactics would prevail. In an ambush, or a fight in the dark, Ninja stealth would win. It all depends on the conditions of the fight.

  7. You cant compare the two.

Samurai were battlefield specialists designed for close range hand-to-hand combat while ninjas used stealth and deception in order to defeat their opponents quickly and quietly.

Each group was better at what they were trained to do.

  8. Neither, it all comes down to the single strategist or tactician who is laying the set of plan's.

If its in large scale attack's it would depend.

The samurai where more head on people, but dont get me wrong if you want to see a complicated thing read the battle of sekigahara and how ieyasu tokugawa turned the tides of battle.

The ninja in large scale would ussualy try to send little groups of assassin's into the enemy ranks as spys and collect as much information then assassinating quietly the higher ups such as officers of the opposite side they would fight.

In Close combat like one on one  I would say the Ninja.

They are very resourceful using dirt to throw into there enemy's eyes and then using a strike to kill them instantly, or as a samurai would charge in full attack a ninja would pull Shuriken and throw them mainly killing the attacker.

Now if you where to take a legendary swordman or someone who is very skilled with the sword they could take on anyone in feudal times.

because they have mastered heaven and earth and put there self in the mind frame of undefeatable.

  9. i'll go with both coz we specialises in different styles each style is special and unique

  10. In a straight up fight, a samurai would destroy a ninja in seconds. Until the Tokugawa came to power and created Ninja within the Samurai ranks, all ninja were peasants. This meant they had c**p for equipment, c**p for strategy, and little time for martial arts training in between trips into the rice fields. Plus they had to train in secrecy. If a ninja missed his sneak attack, his only option to survive was to flee.

Not to say a Ninja couldn't kill a samurai, but they couldn't kill a samurai who knew they were there.

  11. That, my friend, would be impossible to say...

Samurai & Ninja lived & fought in the same age, did they not?

More times than less, they were RIVALS, right?

    One style's movement is FORWARD.

    The other's movement is AROUND.

A Ninja attacks in stealth, rather than open combat.

A Samurai would have it no other way than to attack openly.

Im not sure, but I don't think either style had the upper hand on the other (back then)... one was just OUTLAW'D.

  12. ninjas easy, not only did they do ninjitsu but also jiu jitsu just in case they lost there weapon. plus they are sneaky so they would have the element of surprise attack.
