  1. Depends for what use, there are not enough details.

  2. Flashy and to show off??? Come on ...

The Tennessee Walking Horse is considered one of the light breeds of the equine family. Horses that were originally bred  by the farmers of Middle Tennessee who wanted to develop a breed of horse that could work in the fields during the day, and give the owner a comfortable saddle gait. The  breed gained wide popularity for this smooth gait and it's agility in the rocky middle Tennessee terrain.

I have both. I love them equally but I prefer to ride my Tennessee Walkers.

It didn't matter what I rode when I was younger as long as I rode. Now that I am older I prefer to have a more comfortable ride.

One is not better than the other. They are bred for different things.

  3. Girl, you are gonna spark a huge debate! But in my opinion, I love my QH!! They are an awesome working horse, they know how to get down to work, no fussing around, they learn quick, they're gentle, calm & kind, and probably the best barrel racing breed ever!! <3 Em!!!

(To be fair, i have never personally ridden a TW...so I guess I dont exactly have a fair comparison....)

  4. Personally i like American saddlebreds, they are pretty, gorgeous, sweet, smart, nice, showy, graceful, and responsive.  in other words a dream horse.

  5. They can both be beautiful in their own ways.

  6. It depends on what you are useing them for.

Quarter Horses are really good all around horses they can be used for multpule disciplines. You can use them for barrel racing and you could also use them for jumping if you wanted too.

I am not very familiar with tennessee walkers but i know they are nopt as well rounded they are not good for barrel racing because they have really long legs(i think) They are used more for endurance riding and western and english pleasure and competative trail.

I would suggest getting a Quarter Horse they are a more well rounded horse

  7. depends on what you want to do....its not weather the horses breed is better or not its what dispilne you want to do and what horse would suit you best.

    You need alot more info

personaly i like QH'S the best because they are great all around horses.....And the tenneese walker is another great horse...they are both good horses.

  8. This is like comparing a basketball and a baseball.  There both balls but they do different things.  These are two totally different breeds.  They were breed to do different things.  QH here breed to be good sturdy  work horses, and TW were breed to be flashy and show off.  You can't really say one is better than the other  unless your doing certiand disiplines.

They are now a flashy and a showy breed.  You come on.   Saddleseat is derived from when down south on Sunday’s the plantation owners would go out in their Sunday best and show off who had the most flashy horse.  TW were one of those breeds.  Yes they were also workhorses, but they were breed to be flashy and show off.
