Which online stock broker do you prefer, scottrade, etrade, ameritrade, etc???

im only 17 but would like to start investing my money. so wat6 would be good for me?

I had Etrade and awhile ago I switched to Ameritrade- they are fast and very helpful

I use Firstrade.  It's similar to Scottrade, but slightly cheaper.  Since you are only 17, I think you should take your time to experiment before throwing a lot of money in.  That being said, I guess the best part about Firstrade for you is that they have no minimum deposit.  Therrefore, you can start with as little as you want.

I use Thinkorswim. They have the best analytical tools out there and have been rated #1 by Barron's for two yrs. straight. The commission is $5.00 a trade and they'll allow you to trade options as opposed to the others. Stay away from Sharebuilder, $17.00 a trade eeeek!

Being only 17 you will have to have one of your parents (grandparent) open a "Custodian Accoount" for you,

In the United States, you must be 18 to open a with a Broker/dealer

All major brokerage firms provide their clients with on-line services, including trading platforms, latest market & financial news and research.

Customer need to select the site that is best for them.  Traders have requirements in a site, while investors have other requirements.  

Although most sites are geared to general securities and commodities, however customers may have special needs for the types of products they trade, and the markets in which they trade.

It seems that the most popular firms for on-line investing all of which provide excellent platforms and services are; Scottrade; Chas.Schwab; TDAmeritrade; Fidelity; E-Trade and Thinkorswim.
