Which online university can help me towards a career in civil engineering?

Im trying to be a civil engineer but im not sure what degree i need or if a online university would help me at all towards this goal. any help would be nice , thanx in advance

The quick answer... None of them.

The first answer is correct, you simply cannot become an engineer from an on line college.

Do not be deceived.  If you think you can, then you probably aren't smart enough to be an engineer.  Sorry to be so harsh, but do not waste your money.

An online university will not really help you.  In fact, it will probably waste your time and money.  To be recognized professionally (and make the big bucks), you need a civil engineering degree from a ABET-accredited college or university.  Online-only universities typically are NOT ABET-accredited.  Classes taken from an online university usually won't transfer to a normal brick-and-mortar college.

If costs are a concern, a local community college would be a better alternative to start out with.  These schools usually are ABET-accredited and credits would be transferable.
