Question:

Which organic foods must I buy?

I cannot afford to buy everything organic but wondered if there has been some sort of study indicating which non-organic foods are worse. I have always bought organic milk believing that the cows will expel any drugs/toxins through their milk so non-organic is v.bad. At the other end of the spectrm I bet non-organic bananas have very low or trace levels of chemicals. Does anyone have any more info about this.

  1. Dairy cows are not milked for their product if they are being treated for anything. They must go 90 days before being put back on the milking line at which time all the drugs would be out of their systems.

"ORGANIC" merely means lots of paperwork crossing desks. It does not mean the product is any safer.

USDA and FDA must approve all chemicals used for enhancing feeds such as insecticides and fertilizers. They are safe to the point that they are also safe for the insects and don't even harm them.

Insecticides can be washed off any food!! and it is a very good idea to wash any fruit or veggie you bring home as who knows what diseases a person shopping sneezed or coughed onto them.

Fertilizers are just as non toxic to anyone as the insecticides. Mostly they are general chemicals you would be eating anyway. They are derived from nature and reblended to enhance the growing.

If a product is marked organic, I by pass it in favor of the non organic and save my cash for something else, like more food for my pantry.

  2. Your logic is very off ..

There is no organic past the driveway of the farm.

Warehouses and storerooms even the display cases.. Must use pesticides to protect their produce..You even wash them before use ☺

You know the cows must have drugs and toxins in them First

Then the FDA & USDA inspect and test... Products not meeting the standards,,,  they go to make pet food

The days of scare have passed,,, pesticides are mostly biodegradable because they are sprayed by air and too many people can get exposed..the crops are irrigated many times washing dirt and any of the materials away..

Unless you find locally grown bananas remember the cargo holds are flooded with cyanide to kill the spiders..

but from your question you have been lead away from the logic.. Nothing we can say will make you aware of how silly  the organic movement is..

Tens of millions of people ignore your Organic ????

  3. If it was the only thing I bought, I would buy organic free range meat and eggs.  This is where I find the most difference in quality between organic and non organic.
