Which pacific island is it...?

I heard there was an island in the pacific, where if the people who were born there decide to leave, they can never return for some reason.

anyone know which one im talking about, or whether such a place really exists?

The only one that seems similar at all to what you are describing is Niihau, one of the islands of Hawaii, privately owned..

i am not 100% sure of this but i think you are referring to Easter Island.
