  1. Combining impedances has similarities to the combining of resistors, but the phase relationships make it practically necessary to use the complex impedance method for carrying out the operations.

    Basically for what yopu want you can figure it from the formula for just two impedances (resistors) in parallel:

    Rt = (R1 * R2) / (R1 + R2)

    For the 4-ohm speakers, this will yield a 2-ohm impedance.

    This is assuming and ignoring a lot of the phase relationships between the equivalent circuit that represents a true speaker.
