Question:

Which part of a record deck is the 'cartridge'?

I am guessing it maybe the stylus or something similar...am I totally wrong or a wee bit right? Cheers and Have Fun :0)

  1. a cartridge is the unit to which the stylus is attached, if you need to change your stylus you change the cartridge as well, it is much simpler


  2. It's a plug in cartridge on the end of th arm & it's what holds the stylus (needle).

  3. It's the bit the stylus is attached to.  It converts the vibrations in the stylus into electrical signals, either with a coil and magnet or with a piezzo-electric crystal.

  4. yes your right, somethimes the stylus comes as a small sealed unit that clips into place instead of just the needle, thats basicly the difference between a stylus and a cartridge
