  1. Well living in london is simply expensive! and the cheeper parts are the best palces to live

Good places to look are further our of the city

e.g Amersham - Nice old town with many facilities, perfect for getting into the city, underground link which takes 30 - 40 mins to get into the capital.

  2. It depends really.  London is pretty expnsive but south and east london are probably the cheapest.  There are alot of really rough suburbs there though :)

  3. It depends on whether you need a tube station and where you work.  There are a lot of leafy suburbs of London which have a rail service but not a tube.  These tend to be cheaper than places near the tube but some places even with a tube can be pretty rough.  South London has some nice suburbs such as Forest Hill, Penge West, Sydenham, Crystal Palace, West Norwood, Bromley etc.  Most have a regular rail service to a main central station taking between 20 and 40 minutes and are served by lots of buses including night buses.  Worth a look.  I live in South London in one of those suburbs and I have to say it has a real community feel about it and I know all my neighbours.  No one is fake here, we're nice and friendly and actually say hello to each other.
