I thought it was simple enough, to be honest.

  1. He understands it all pretty well. he doesn't want to action it because he sees further employment opportunities for himself when he gets relieved of his job in UK government. He could be the 'Commissioner for dithering' or some such and join the band waggon of the un-sackables. I'm all in favour of the concept of a united Europe but only if I can have a vote every few years to get rid of the sticky fingered persons who are currently in power.

  2. To the people who have answered so far - "Which part of the Lisbon Treaty do you understand?"

If the answer it what I would expect, then how on earth would you decide whether to vote yes or no?

  3. He understands all of it very well - he just ignores it.  The whole of Europe is in the same boat.  I don't think any of the "old" countries would get a, "Yes" vote if their electorate were polled - so they just won't let us have a say. Too afraid.  Give the Irish 12 months and their masters in the Dail will probably make the poor beggers go again - till they get it "right"!

  4. he understands it well enough...he just doesnt give a sh*t.

people are forgetting that the treaty is signed..its over...tony blair sold this country to the e.u and there is no going back...

we the people had our chance, and we f*cked it up....so enjoy the rest of this year because from 1.1.09 ur gonna have to get used to the taste of oppresive leather jackboot!

  5. forget the libson c**p is ot not time to ask

for a referndum on the EU

  6. i personally do not want a referendum on it - it would be pointless and a waste of time, as the changes do not make that much of a difference. the only ppl who want one in my opinion are anti-european union conservatives who want to use the opportunity to say that the public do not want to be in europe anymore if they vote against the treaty

  7. This is dead simple, THE EU IS ILLEGAL!!!! in British Law, going way back to the Magna Carta, how people do not understand this is beyond me, five PM and our Queen have commited treason against our country.

  8. Isn't it grand - only the Irish can save us by rejecting the Treaaty - again.

However it seems that when people vote against something as they did in Ireland against the Constitution -  the politicians tart the same legislation up as a 'Treaty' and try to push it through once more.

Frankly we are going to get this Treaty whether we want it or not and the whole of Europe is on a very slippery slope to the most authoritarian and draconian state of governance since Mussolini and Hitler.  The problem is at least there were people to fight Mussolini and Hitler - it seems our present politicians would be going cap in hand to our erstwhile enemies begging for inclusion in the Axis.

Lest we forget under Hitler Germany elected a National Socialist Party.  Then there was no party - or rather just one party who tolerated no others - the n**i party.

Frankly I don't think we are that far away from embracing the sort of fascism that all our young men died to save us from during the Second World War.  It is just a pity that so many men lost their lives then for what we are happily and blindly embracing now.

  9. He understand and it is for this that wound not give us a referendum he wants Lisbon Treaty we do not so he win without a referendum . What can you do about it? The manifesto is a contract with the electorate any barrister out there that want to take the challenge?

  10. We shouldn't need a referendum we are British not European

    this is Britain not Europe

we have a sovereign a government of sorts and too many non understandable laws of our own without European ones,

the German gnomes and sprout party can go to h**l, this is England,Scotland Wales and a very well done Ireland, we have survived and prospered without Europe for hundreds of years and will continue to do so outside of the EU,

do you pro Europeans think these countries will stop trading with us because we are not in their little corrupt gang, I think not,

But your right we cannot sit back and admire what our brave Irish cousins have done for us,we as a unit must press for a proper binding referendum to extract ourselves out of this European sh-te hole, and if the people of France etc aren't happy now is you're time to re-ask why you're no vote was rejected or what.

  11. You've got that right. Its the same arrogance and contempt that this Labour government has shown the electorate for the last 10 years that has undermined our democracy. They have got fat off the backs of others, with their their property development on public money and back handers from government contracts.

  12. ALL OF IT !!
