  1. Batman?? LMAO

  2. Batman

  3. I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but the relationship between Batman and the Joker in The Dark Knight was influenced by Alan Moore's one-shot Batman comic, "The Killing Joke," as well as some parts of the Joker's dialogue. The 13-issue comic series "Batman: The Long Halloween" was also noted as a major influence for the storyline in The Dark Knight.

  4. It came from a graphic novel.  So did Batman Begins.  Batman Begins was from Batman: Year One.  The Dark Knight came from The Long Halloween.  The movies don't follow the novels exactly.

  5. The Dark Knight is a very loose combination of The Killing Joke and The Long Halloween.

The Killing Joke is a short story by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland in which the Joker kidnaps Commissioner Gordan and attempts to drive him insane. If you would like to read it, it's included in this book:

(You can buy The Killing Joke individually, but this book is only $3 more and includes 7 more comics. Great value)

The Long Halloween was a 12 issue miniseries by Geoff Loeb and Tim Sale which is about Batman hunting a serial killer who murders on holidays. Harvey Dent is a major character in it, and this is the modern origin of Two-Face.
