  1. Everyone has acquired a wal-mart attitude about everything... We sell for a living, and cannot find American products cheap enough to sell, and still be competitive...Most people are just not willing to pay more for American made goods, not like we wouldn't love to handle them exclusively.. Wal-mart undercut everyone, basically ran free enterprise back over the border...  Sam Walton sold American product, and when he died his idealism died as well... Certainly wish I could propose a solution, bit I do not know what it would be......I guess the answer is big business, Wal-Mart out in the front by a big lead..

  2. People can complain day and night that illegal immigrants are stealing jobs, but I think the greater culprit is corporate outsourcing.

Your average illegal isn't going to have the degree necessary to do some kinds of skilled labor, but when companies realize that a guy in India can do it for a quarter of the pay, a lot of college educated IT professionals, or numerous call support workers can find themselves out of jobs.

  3. It is absolutely true.

But nobody is stealing anything.  We are giving jobs away.

If we had a better educational system, the high-tech jobs would not have been outsourced.

You want jobs to stay here?  Provide workers who can do more than (inaccurately) load fast-food orders for minimum wage.  I am not talking about folks using fast-food jobs to pay the bills while they go to school.  That's a stop-gap measure and I've done something similar myself.  But for those folks who don't want to go to school and then don't understand why they don't have a better job, I've got little patience.

Walt Kelly was so right a long time ago in his "Pogo" cartoon strip:  We have met the enemy and he is us.

  4. We must accept some of the blame .

Refuse to buy foreign made goods.

    Demand goods "Made in America"

Ask yourselves if you really need that _______(_fill in the blank.)

Buy some gold or silver & stash it a mayo jar in the back yard.

Some day you will thank me.

    Your welcome

  5. Unemployment has been lower than 5% until recently when it was right at 5%

    That is historically full employment

January's job report in a couple weeks will be telling

  6. the people who wants to get a job and not lay at home eating biscuits

  7. Corporations moving over seas. Failure to use Solar Power when right there. Many places in The U.S.A., Africa, Mexico have abundant sunlight for this. No jobs to steal once made through this and once Human Supremacist Eco System damaging Attitudes rejected as suicidal contributing to Global Warming. Security jobs though have been increasing for reason so many poor. Also illusion of difference between main stream religions in U.S.A once dispensed with will make more possible. Judaic, Muslim,Christian unity  would make true source of conflict more evident. Peacefull unity follow each at same time no more Crusade,Jihad lanquage,no Anti-this or that.

  8. Its all about how our country relies on other countries instead of coming up with a way to be self-sufficient.

  9. People have equal rights to employment.

  10. I don't think there's any particular group that is stealing our jobs, I think industry (corporate America) is responsible for a majority of that going on.  As a technology sector employee, it is required that 60% of the programming staff be overseas in India.  That is a rule from corporate.  It cuts costs for them - and it's all about the bottom line.

I see increasing numbers of manufacturing jobs being sent overseas, again because company's can cut their own salary costs by paying less where labor is cheaper.

So - I really think that corporations are responsible.

  11. People who work to make their living deserve respect. People who live by walfare and complain need get their lazy a** kicked.

  12. Good question i love how people use illegal immigrants as a scapegoat, ........ Rigo is right though.

Unemployment is reported at 5% but theres 160 billion people in america thats more than any historical date, and im sure theres more than that. Then there are the scores of people who just opt to work under the table, mostly because they cant recieve unemployment anymore. Lots of variables, so 5% yeah right thats unbelieveable, let a suit push numbers and come up with some statistics and everyone believes it.

  13. Do you mean "who are we mostly giving our jobs away to?"

  14. Politicians( of both parties)

  15. pepper bellies in general

  16. Pointing fingers at any people group breeds a general hatred, and hatred tends to lead to terrible things - genocide being one.

It is incorrect to assume that, should the US totally seal off all its borders, unemployment would suddenly disappear - Americans are generally unwilling to perform entry-level manual labor.  Jobs that are outsourced are outsourced because of an increase in globalization, and corporations aren't stupid.  They can cut costs by employing people who will work for far less than Americans.  Outsourcing is of course a slap in the face to American employees, but the corporations have no incentive to stay in the US.

Incidentally, a "right to work" does not exist anywhere in American law, and is therefore not an argument.  Buying "American-made" goods is fine, but there's no way to buy everything "American" - we just don't make that much.  Furthermore, even if, say, a Ford automobile is assembled in the US, the likelihood is great that its component parts were made outside the US, an important point to remember.

Please be careful this doesn't turn into a nation-centric ideology.  The people working outsourced jobs are least at "fault" for unemployment and such, don't blame them for this issue.  For many, it's a choice between an outsourced job and starvation - which one would you choose?

  17. The Chinese, mostly.  Because there are more of them.  They are becoming well educated and America keeps taking advantage of the cheap labor force.  They aren't the only ones though.  America is not doing enough to keep up educationally.  We're not learning other languages.  And we're not willing to work for the kind of wages that they are.  Minimum wage and union wages are killing us!

  18. The government is stealing our jobs.

Look in the stores, all the clothing and toys are made in CHINA.

How is spending my tax rebate going to help the economy?  It will only help the Chinese economy.

  19. 'Stealing jobs' is metaphorical.  In a free labor market, jobs aren't stolen, they just go to the most efficient providers.  That's not America, at least not for most forms of labor.  The regions that are out-competing America in the global job market are, most notably, India and China.

In America, jobs also flow to the black market for labor - I can understand calling it 'theft,' I suppose, since the illegal aliens being hired are breaking the law, as are the employers who exploit them.  But, really, no one 'owns' thier job, so it can't really be 'stolen.'

Plenty of cases of 'unfair competion,' though.

  20. Limited jobs.

Millions joining the US by fair means or foul.

Less jobs for US people who have a right to work in their own country.

Gov. legislation preventing US companies discriminating against immigrants in favour of locals, even though by rights locals should get first chance at jobs

    Angry locals.

    War on the streets.

  21. "Rego" is right, our biggest problem with the loss of jobs is our own government, (NAFTA) and the company greed that allows for outsourcing for the sake of greater profits.

The Mexican immigrants are tearing h**l out of the construction industry, working for half pay or less than the prevailing wage, and this with the blessing of our politicians.

When anyone point to the present employment figures, you can forget that c**p, as true, while the employment numbers may show what they call full employment, or close, but that number is not telling the whole truth.

Lets face it, many people today have lost their good paying jobs to outsourcing, yet they and their spouses are working low paying jobs just to survive, so in effect, there are two working for less money than one made before the greedy coporations sent thier jobs overseas.  See what I mean, two for one, and that makes the employment figures look as if no one lost their jobs.

  22. I am convinced that the hiring of illegals do bring down wages, but with the unemployment rate this low, everyone that wants a job has one.

  23. I'm not sure if "stealing" is the correct word..more like doing the jobs lazy Americans refuse to do.

For example, there's a factory in my town that pays well over minimum wage and provides benefits and everything. People in my town complain because so many Mexican immigrants work there...meanwhile the same people who complain about that are the same ones who complain when their welfare check doesn't arrive on time.

Americans are lazy..not all of us, but alot of us. Our government needs to quit babying people and maybe then Americans would take over the work industry again.

Immigrants aren't stealing anything--they're taking what selfish Americans don't want.

  24. It seems like everyone's customer service department is being outsourced to India.  You can blame your own friends and neighbors in big business for that.

As for illegals taking your jobs, most of them are doing the stuff you don't want to do.  Unskilled labor from ditch digging, to removing c**p filled old sewer pipes is what they are doing.

  25. The people from India and Mexico
