  1. The Inch is an area of Edinburgh, South of Cameron Toll, North of Gilmerton, East of Liberton, West of Dalkeith Road and the New Royal Infirmary.

Two miles due South of the City Centre, it is series of 50's housing schemes (mostly two floors) on both sides of Gilmerton Road. A couple of small rows of shops, a couple of small parks and that's about it.

Some 80's housing added around the nicely named 'double hedges road', and some new flats in the last few years. One of Edinburgh's fire stations is in this area.

  2. the inch is in south edinburgh, its a 1950s housing estate which is generally ok to live in,theres a big park with mansion house now used as community centre and a shopping centre nearby(cameron toll),its accessible to city centre and well served by buses etc,the royal infirmary hospital is nearby in moredun area
