Which party idea would you go with and why?

I'm throwing myself a birthday party at a house on July 19th. Obviously I don't have a ton of time and I need your help! I can't decide between a luau / beach party theme or a masquerade / costume party theme. We're not going to have a ton of outside room but we do have a hot tub. I'm expecting about 10 - 15 people. What's your vote, and do you have any ideas to make that kind of party super special? Thanks for your imput!

I WOULD GO WITH THE LUAU THEME AND HAVE EVERYONE DRESS IN THE BIKINI AND SWIMMING TRUNKS AND HAVE A NICE TIME.

luau......everyone has beach cloths, or something close.....the costume party is costly for others

how about something different type, like a "dressed to get screwed", those are always fun

Luau/beach you can do so many things with this theme.

You can serve some light food or fruit for the warm weather.

You could have a bikini contest for the females and for the guys you could have them where their sexiest swimming trunks and have a contest for them as well. You could play trivia games for alcoholic beverages.

The Masquerade/costume theme may be to hot.

Are these adults or teens?

Luau would just fit this time of year better! You have time to actually dig a small pit and roast some meat, that would be the ultimate!

Adults should have a small Keg of beer, some roasted corn, potato salad and strawberry shortcake and something chocolate!

Or a Crawfish boil or a fish fry! Any of these would be not to hard and very popular!

a luau would be better especially since you dont have too many people, because you would want a big group for a costume party.. Also, it meets this time of year so it would be great.

I think the luau is better for summer ...... everyone can wear cool, summer Hawaiian clothes.  Save the costume party for Halloween or Mardi Gras, when it's colder out ..... Go to Oriental Trading Co's website for lots of great, inexpensive decorations & favors  .....Make fruit kebobs and stick them into whole fresh pineapples (and use those as centerpieces).  Large artificial leaves under food platters;  little wooden bowls with chunks of FRESH coconut, macadamia nuts and sugar cane for snacks
