Question:

Which path of education?

I'm a student in Singapore, taking my O Level examinations this year. Regarding my education next year, I'm caught between going to Trinity College in Melbourne to take Foundation Studies (and then going to the University of Melbourne) or taking my A Levels in Singapore and then applying to a university overseas (hopefully in the UK or Australia, preferably Oxford or Cambridge). I'm worried that if I stay in Singapore, I may not be able to make it into a top university, especially with the intense competition here. Which choice sounds better, and why?

All help is appreciated. Thanks.

  1. I would take your A-levels and apply to Oxford or Cambridge. They are better universities and with a degree there you will look good when you go for a job interview. The cities there are also really nice with lots of history and stunning architecture.

    Hope this helps, good luck.

  2. definitely A lvls, then decide where you want to go

    besides the obvious educational implications,

you are also giving yourself 2 more years to "grow up" and have more maturity and experience to decide best how you want to chart your higher education path.

    good luck ya?
