  1. Which people?  As a nation, region or culture?  DNA mixing?  Of similar or very different phenotypes and genotypes?

Anatolia, but especially ancient Anatolia was near the crossroads for a wide variety of peoples, including the Armenians, Assyrians, Hattians, Hittites, Hellenes, Medes, Pelasgians, Phrygians and Thracians.  Many of these, however are genetically similar so even interbreeding does not give a wide genetic diversity.

There is also a problem with reporting single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) as genetic differences even if they produce no observable differences in physical form or function.  This is the reason that the location of East Africa is often touted as the most diverse.  Just a change in which nucleotide is present in a specific location does not mean that the DNA (when translated into a functional protein, for example) will give any diversity.

A diversity by genetic phenotype is entirely different.  When the change in DNA sequence leads to a change in any observable characteristic of an organism, then the change (or diversity) is significant.  Differing phenotypes means differences in morphology, development, biochemical or physiological properties and/or behavior of the organisms.

To date, most genetic studies following phenotypes tend to point to urban locations in North America as being the most most diverse.

  2. Last I heard on the subject was folks in Sub-Saharan Africa and Papua New Guinea. The DNA of most ethnic groups in the world--Europeans and North American First Nations, for example--is not terribly diverse. You might be able to list a dozen nations in your genealogy, but the DNA of all those ancestors may be quite similar.

Theories for the diversity of DNA in Sun-Saharan Africa and Papua New Guinea include long occupation and a response to malaria.

  3. The most genetic diversity exists among people living in East Africa, where the ancestors of all modern humans lived. It's really interesting. In fact, prehistoric routes of human migration have been hypothesized based on tracing global genetic diversity from the most diverse areas (longest human occupation) to the least diverse areas (most recent human habitation). Areas with very long histories of human habitation will tend to have more genetic diversity because they have had more time in which genetic mutations (the source of biological diversity) have accumulated.

  4. tiger woods lol he's everything!

  5. The countries of east Africa have the highest human genetic diversity in the world. This is because it is where humanity evolved, and while smaller populations moved out they took only a small portion of the genetic mix with them(including on tiny population whose ancestors populated the entire world outside Africa, other small groups populated other parts of the continent) , while the majority of genetic diversity stayed there. New genes developed at about the same rate everywhere, but that still leaves east African nations with the highest genetic diversity in the world

  6. an human have hanh, finger have differ from others, therefor finger is .....

  7. we are all dna soup pots.

  8. Actually, I would say there are some Americans that are the most diversified.  For instance, in my ancestry I have English, German, Jewish from Ukraine/Belarus, Jewish from Austria, Choctaw, Cherokee, and who knows what else.  I have cousins that also have black, or Navajo and Mexican, or Puerto Rican, or Turkish, or Vietnamese, or Irish, or Spanish ancestry.  (My relatives marriages are very diversified.)

So, I would say that some Americans are the most diversified as far as dna mixing of races and ethnic groups.

  9. Brazil probably.

But if you want a real classical melting pot, Egypt has ancestry from three continents.
