Which people on benefits do you have a problem with?

Is it just people claiming job seekers allowance and people on income support, or do you have a problem with incapacity and disability benefits? How do you feel about people working and claiming top up benefits because their wages are low and they have families.

  1. Another fair question, (that's the second today)!

So it deserves a fair opinion.

I don't want to see any one die  for lack of funds, no matter who ever they are!

In the UK I consider we have a very fair system of working out these 'benefits'.

True it is being taken advantage of in some areas, but these cases are being (slowly) sorted out.

These so called benefits are not a present from our elected government, we (you and I) pay for them!

If any of us have a  problem about how that   is  managed there is a solution write in and complain!

  2. People that are able to work, but are just too darn lazy, and just take the p**s out off all these benefits.

    That annoys me

  3. everyone needs to live so if by law they say you need so much to live and you can't make it in you job alone then a top up is great .

My problem is with people on benefits that could work but choose not too

  4. Of course I have a problem with people who work AND claim benefit!

They are scamming the system and stealing money which they are not entitled to

If people are finding it hard they should cut back on luxury's, have a budget and stick to it

If things get really bad tax credits are always there to help, so are crisis loans and so is social services (I'm sure not many people know it but they give out food tokens that can be used in Tesco's)

I have no problem with people who legitimately claim benefit ie disability allowance or even people who have lost their job and are finding it hard to find another straight away

I do however have a problem with long term benefit claimants who breed like rabbits just to claim more money

  5. I think the majority of people who claim benefits do so legitimately. And without unemployed people there'd be no competition for jobs, thus driving everyone's wages down. So they're vital to the economy too.

  6. Govt.ministers claiming Thousands a week,

  7. The ones that I have a problem with are those that are claiming for children that don't even live in this country.

Also ones that are claming for more than one wife.

Ones that use a special address to claim extra benefit.

Ones that are working and tick the 'unemploed' box on their

    prescriptions.

Ones that have a couple oj jobs, drive BMW's and claim

    benefits.

I do not have a problem with people that have lost their job

and have to sign on.  Or those that are hardworking individuals then find that they are to poorly to work and have

    to go on incapacity benefit.

And the ones that get on my wick are the ones that are clearly

not disabled but they still have their badge in the car and they

think they can still parl where they like.

    The list goes on....

  8. I honestly don't blame people on benefits. It's the culture that's wrong, not necessarily the people. If people have to genuinely claim because of illness or they just cannot get a job, I have no problem. It's people who can get a job I have a problem with. People that are fitter and younger than me that stay on benefits for years and years and years that peeve me off. AND, people making out that they are all so frail, and claiming incapacity then you see them out playing footy with their chavvy kids then down the pub throwing pints down their fat necks like there's no tomorrow.

  9. If people fair and squarely require benefits then they deserve to have them.  You then get the person claiming Job Seekers Allowance who works a bit on the side making something like £60 - £70 in the week.  Yes! that is wrong, can be reported for fraud and nowadays this is taken seriously and so it should be. However, there are also 'Fat Cats' who fiddle the Inland Revenue, take huges amounts of cash in hand etc and then there is  huge companies making billions and billions of

pounds in profits whilst continually putting up their charges to Joe Public. Who is the worse culprit in all this?

  10. I have no problem whatsoever with people who are disabled claiming disability or incapacity benefit.  I have no problem either with low paid workers who need to claim benefits in order to survive.

I do, however, have a problem with a western country whose minimum wage is so poor that low paid workers have to claim benefits in order to survive and which, when it raises tax levels penalises the poor and those on pensions.

I have a massive problem with people who have decided not to work but breed large families in order to gain the sort of benefits that it would take a working person to earn £40,00 per annum to equal.  Ditto so called disabled people who have enormous families.  How, exactly, are they disabled?  Certainly not physically by the sound of it. I do not think that the taxpayer should support these leeches.

  11. If they are entitled to it, they should claim the benefits. As for low wage earners, they are willing to work so if there is extra money they can claim, they should. I do have a problem with people claiming incapacity and disability benefits they are not entitled to, genuine claims for any benefit should be made, that is what the provision is there for.

  12. Don`t mind them, but those that claim and work on the side is a different thing, and them that claim disability to go to the pub, time to get on the phone i think.

  13. I have what seems to be an unusual take on this, I think it's none of my business.

  14. Those who can work and will not get right up my nose.

I would not report them because the present encouragement to report is the start of a reporting society and you will ultimately have children reporting parents for political views in the name of security of course .

This does not mean I would not report someone who was guilty of murder, burglary etc  Tax fiddles are none of my business particularly as the government misuses so much of the tax we pay

  15. I have a problem with immigrants claiming benefits, if they can't support themselves they shouldn't be allowed in, most sensible countries expect this. I have a problem with people claiming benefits long-term if they have no intention of getting work and think the taxpayers should support them. I have no problem with genuine claimants of Incapacity or Disability but I think many of us suspect a high percentage aren't genuine. Family Tax Credits are fine so long as the money benefits the children, and not pay for Chavs f**s/booze/drugs/bingo.

  16. No problem with people on low income having top up to support their families but do have a problem when two able adults sit at home day after day, while their children are in school, no effort at all made to look for work. Or single parents whose children are in school do not look for at least part-time work. I think most people should do some kind of work for their benefit, I mean there is plenty of work needs to be done in our country and I for one would not mind having to do a few hours a day to recieve a giro, at least I would feel like I earned it and not so much of a charity case.

  17. I have a problem with anyone claiming benefits, who is well enough to work. There is ALWAYS something needs doing, and they should be made to get out of bed every morning, and do SOMETHING for their benefits, even if it's voluntary hospital work. People on long term benefits get to a stage whereby they become so lazy, they never work again.

As for people who get their wages topped up, I have no problem with, as they have the decency to at least try and support their families, and show respect for themselves, and their families.

  18. I don't have a problem with anyone getting the help they need.

  19. i agree with honey m -> -> ->

    dont know dont care

    simple.

i hav friends who r on benefits and they are really poor so i dont really care if they are livin on MY tax money. its a waste of my money

  20. I have a big problem with the three people I know of who are claiming disability living allowance with the mobility element and are more able to walk than I am.

  21. I have worked from the age of 15 to 27 and paid taxes. I am married and i have 2 children and disabled husband. My youngest is just 5 weeks so no i am not working at the moment. My husband desperatly wants to work and support his family but as his disability is similar to MS no employer wants to take him on as he would be unreliable as no 2 days are the same and he is ill more than he isnt so he has to accept the fact that he gets disabilty. We are genuine claimers yet we are made to feel like scroungers when we arent. I have worked full time up until having my children, I am carer to my husband as there are many day to day things that people take for granted that he cant do yet it wont be long before i am back to work again. Due to me working full time my husband gets disability living allowance but as i earn over £90 a week i have to support us both which i have done for the past 6 years.

People who can work should work and those who are scamming should be punished so less people will try it.

  22. Other than those with real disabilities and their respective carers, I have a problem with them all.

  23. Seriously its a fRiday night. Lighten up.

  24. all of them who are not entitled but genuine i have no problem

  25. if people need help, then they have a right to claim benefits, without being judged.

  26. dont know dont care

  27. I live in (USA) California  what has come to be known as the  Second Biggest Welfare State in the world(after Hawai'i,since Hawai'i is basically The Haves and The Have Nots, not much of a middle class there)...But you know I have learned NOT to judge...I have found myself being grateful that I am not in their position.....that my children have Healthcare, a nice place to live, food in their bellies, nice clothes on their backs...they are warm in Winter and cool during the Summer. If my tax dollar can do something to help them...then I say, Thank-God I can afford to Help Out~

  28. Anyone who cheats. Anyone.

  29. Unfortunately there are loopholes. That's how it goes. Life's unfair.

  30. People who can work and choose not to in favour of a life on handouts

  31. I THINK MOST PEOPLE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT. THEY COULD STOP ALL WELFARE TOMORROW BUT YOU STILL WON'T SEE ANY CHANGE IN YOUR TAXES.IT WOULD JUST PUT MORE MONEY IN THE POCKETS OF POLITICIANS..........
