  1. Misting the bird daily will cut down on the dust

  2. Over the last 20 years I have raised  70+ different types of birds. I have found that the ones that have the least dander

are ecklectus.  They are beautiful birds that can be taught to talk and are very personable.  However they are pricey as all great things are

  3. I have been breeding several species of parrots, parakeets, finches, softbills, doves for over 16 years and the least amount of dust is from finches, pyrrhura conures [such as green-cheeked, painted, rose-crowned, crimson-bellied and fiery-shouldered], the black-capped and maroon-bellied conures and the other 10+ species belonging to this family would be excellent as well. The aratinga family of conures would also be great too. We have the dusky-headed conure from this family.

Quakers would be a good choice too.

In the finch/sparrow family, gouldian finches, long-tailed grassfinches, spice, cutthroat, parrot, mannikins, java rice, diamond sparrows, zebra, owl, society, waxbills, green singing, canary, etc. are excellent.

Stay away from doves, cockatiels, cockatoos and african greys. They give off the most dust.

Just remember to give them a dish of fresh room temperature water to bathe in or mist them with a brand new never used misting plant bottle, at least 3 to 4 times a week. This will keep any dander down and their feathers in tip top condition.

Please always do your research one the species that you are interested in bird clubs, internet websites, etc. before purchasing your bird. Make sure you provide a big cage appropiate for the species and with different toys, swing and various diameter perches of various materials to help provide an enriching and stimulating environment.

    Your welcome. Hope this helps.
