Which pet do you find that make the best companion, a dog or a cat?

out of the two i would say a dog.  but you can always try other stuff like a dragon or a hedge hog.  The hedge hog is easy to take with you a lot more places.  Friends, stores and more.

I think a dog, but that is me! All dogs and cats are different, if you are a person who stays inside a lot a cat or a dog will work, but if you are a person who loves to be outside i would say a dog. And a dog will at least listen to you anywhere you go, that is if you teach him/her good enough! Good luck!

well both can make great ones

but i think dogs are more loving in the sense that they play & communicate better & u find that with any breed of dog

but with cats,u have to find the right breed like ragdolls are lap cats & they like to show affection but with like pursians or american shorthair,they & others can be loving sometimes & snotty or mean other times but basically cats overall tend to do what they want when they want & u have to wait for when they are ready to play or be affectionate

so id say dogs are better companions because they tend to show more affection & thats why they are called man's best friend but if u like cats, thats fine too.

Mm, depends on how much time you have.

If you don't have that much time to actually take care of a pet, a cat would be a better choice, you need to clean their litter box and feed and water them, but cats are very independent, and they can take care ofthemselves, they are lovey though, which is nice.

Dogs on the other hand need more time and require more one on one attention. They needed to be walked daily, they need to be let out to use the potty, dogs are much more active, and they'd be better if you have more time for them.

i have a cat and a dog .... i have had my cat for i think about 9 yrs and i have had my dog for about 2 weeks and i am completely attached to my dog!!!! so if your looking to buy a cat or a dog ... buy the dog ...... but they are barrels of energy and be ready to take on lots of responsabilities.....

i highly recomend getting a pitbull

all the **** you see in the media about how they are mean is bull **** its not the dog that is bad it is the trainer ... just make sure you get into obedience classes with him asap because this is the key to haveing a great dog

For me, the better way to ask  your question would be "To which pet would you be a better companion: a dog or a cat?"  Since I will NOT be a companion to a cat, "dog" is the only answer.  Just the way I am.  God Bless you.

A dog definitely, they so much more communicative - where a cat likes to be independent a mutt looks forward to your company (imo)......though it depends what you want from a pet too!!!
